World University and Impact Rankings for Indian institutions: eligibility, data submission, research quality and SDG evidence
A global ranking is a data exercise long before it is a reputation exercise. Over five evenings, your team checks eligibility, prepares the institutional data THE collects, audits your research footprint and plans an Impact Rankings entry built on evidence.
THE Rankings Readiness: Take Your Institution Global is a five-evening advanced programme by Edhitch, run live online from 15 to 19 February 2027, Monday to Friday, 7–9 PM IST. Indian institutions check eligibility for the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, prepare the data THE collects, audit their research footprint and plan an SDG-led Impact Rankings entry. The fee is ₹2,499 + GST.
THE's World University Rankings use 17 performance indicators across five pillars: Teaching (29.5%), Research Environment (29%), Research Quality (30%), International Outlook (7.5%) and Industry (4%). Data for the 2027 edition was collected through THE's portal from January to 30 March 2026. If the next cycle follows the same pattern, the portal will be open during this programme.
Not every institution is eligible for the World University Rankings: THE excludes institutions that do not teach undergraduates, publish fewer than 1,000 relevant publications over five years (at least 100 a year), or concentrate 80% or more of research in one subject. The Impact Rankings, built on the UN Sustainable Development Goals, offer a different route to global visibility.
Before you join: Your institution is considering or already participating in THE rankings. Bring your publication counts for the last five years and your latest institutional data return.
Every session is a working session. You bring your institution's data, and each evening ends with something you can use the next morning.
Five pillars, 17 indicators, eligibility rules and banding. Where Indian institutions typically gain and lose.
Staff, students, international numbers, income and doctorates as THE defines them, and how those definitions differ from NIRF and AISHE.
Bibliometric data, author and institution profiles, affiliation consistency, and how the reputation survey works.
Choosing SDGs where you have evidence, building policy and practice documentation, and avoiding claims you cannot support.
Selecting peers, reading benchmarking data, and a two-year plan that also strengthens your NIRF position.
Everything is built on your own data during the sessions, so it is ready to use when the programme ends.
Past participants join at the level that matches the work they have already done. Tell us which programme you attended when you register, and our facilitators will know where you are starting from.
A suggested path through the series
